Queen Dondogdulam collection

For the upcoming New Year celebration designers presented their 2 part collection with Dondogdulam, the collection named after the last Queen Consort of Mongolian history.

During the creation process, we made extensive research on historical and cultural elements of the last 100 years and developed 11 new patterns. From these, we selected only 2 of them for the new Collection. Dondogdulam was the initiator of bringing artisans and craftsmen of her time in Bogd Khan’s Palace where they created outfits for the noble wardrobe. One of her pictures illustrates a floral pattern that we borrowed for a new golden silk dress by embroidering and enriching with crystals. We imagined if Dondogdulam was a young woman in our times she would have chosen to wear this dress. The second pattern was used on a dark blue dress that we called Manal, named after a god of wellbeing and good health. The pattern has 3 fruits (3 different colors) that represent the past, the present and the future. The whole collection consists of 10 looks.
